The human body wasn’t designed to be sat at a desk every day, so it’s little wonder that many office workers suffer from the odd aches and pains. But, there are lots of measures you can take to reduce the impact of any negative effects of being glued to a desk all day long. Here are some for starters.

Take regular breaks

If you’re snowed under with work it might seem impossible to take a break away from your desk, but in actual fact research suggests that taking regular breaks can help improve your concentration when you get back to your work.

Moving about and stretching can be good for your posture and muscles, so even if you just get up every now and again for a few minutes, you’ll be making a difference. Rest your eyes from the computer screen every 20 minutes or so, and make sure that glare on your screen isn’t causing you to squint – otherwise, you’ll end up with a headache. Office Training Day Essentials

Once or twice a year, the time comes to set up the office answerphone, ditch the corporate wear and take everyone off for a training day. This may take place outside the office at a specific venue or you might be brave and decide to hold it in the office. If it’s held at an outside venue, the majority of resources will be provided for you, but what if it takes place in the office? Here are some of the essential items you will need to ensure it runs smoothly…

Firstly, make sure you have enough chairs for the people involved. You won’t want to shift all the office chairs into the room in which the training is taking place, so make sure you have chairs specifically for the training space. You might not always need these chairs to be set out and you might sometimes need the space to be clear, so opt for stacking chairs which can be easily rearranged and stored away at the end of the day.
